Ban Zhang Cha Wang is made from maocha in genuine Lao Ban Zhang village. The trees are growing around 1700 metres above sea level. Annual production of real Lao Ban Zhang village (across all picking seasons) is only at most 4000kg based on the number of trees in the area. Due to this exclusivity, most Lao Ban Zhang found in the market is a blend of maocha from other places.
This cake is made from pre-qing ming picking from the Ban Zhang Cha Wang tree. The young and tender leaves makes a deeply penetrating tea with good huigan and shengjin.
